Hope’s Animal Kingdom Cat Rescue was founded in 2021 by Laura Zurawski and her family after the loss of their beloved rescue dog, Hope. While we assist animals of all kinds, our primary focus is on the overlooked cat population and reducing the number of feral cats and kittens in our community. We rescue, spay and neuter, vaccinate, and find loving homes for animals in need. Those who cannot be adopted remain here at the rescue, where they continue to receive care and a safe environment.
We also partner with local shelters to help reduce the time cats and kittens spend in facilities, ultimately helping to prevent euthanasia due to overcrowding.
Today, our primary focus is on rescuing and rehabilitating orphaned kittens—many of whom might otherwise face death or euthanasia in conventional shelters. Caring for newborn, sick, or injured kittens requires significant time, resources, and dedication, as these vulnerable animals need constant attention. At HAK, we ensure these delicate babies receive everything necessary for the best possible outcome. Our top priorities are orphaned kittens and nursing cats with their litters, providing specialized care so that every kitten has the best chance to grow, thrive, and find a loving home.

We are dedicated to give the most fragile and vulnerable kittens and cats a fighting chance at life. We specialize in rescuing kittens less than 8 weeks old, as well as those who are sick, injured, or otherwise at risk of being overlooked. We are dedicated to give the most fragile and vulnerable kittens and cats a fighting chance at life. We specialize in rescuing kittens less than 8 weeks old, as well as those who are sick, injured, or otherwise at risk of being overlooked. Through providing shelter, proper nutrition, and advanced medical care, we foster their recovery, growth, and well-being. Our objective is to match every cat with a safe, loving, and permanent home—ensuring that even the tiniest, most at-risk lives are not only saved but cherished.
We envision a compassionate community where every kitten — no matter how tiny, fragile, or at risk—has the opportunity to survive, thrive, and be cherished. Through lifesaving rescue, responsible spay and neuter practices, and community education, we strive toward a future where kitten suffering and overpopulation are greatly reduced.
Giving Fragile Lives a Fighting Chance
Hope's Animal Kingdom is funded solely by donations, and all donations are tax-deductible. Funds are required to shelter, feed, spay/neuter, provide medical care when needed, and provide preventive health care. All animals admitted to the rescue are dewormed treated for fleas and ticks, and given age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped, and tested for Feline Leukemia and Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV).

Hope’s Animal Kingdom is the proud recipient of the 2023 SKIP grant and mentorship program to launch SKIP, a program that partners with local animal shelters to save sick, injured, underweight, and orphaned kittens at risk of being euthanized. Funds will be used to support the health and developmental needs of high-risk kittens. By partnering with local shelters HAK will help save the lives of many more orphaned and neonatal kittens.
